Remix OS has been around for quite some time and has grown to be one of the most loved Android OS version that can be installed on desktop PCs and Laptops. And now, the OS is also available as an Android emulator that you can run inside Windows.
Remix OS Player is similar to Bluestacks and Nox App Player, but only more advanced. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which no other Android emulator available for Windows features.
You can play Android games with Remix OS Player easily while running Windows on your PC. Setting it up is simple and straightforward. Let’s get started..
How to Install Remix OS Player on Windows
Download Remix OS Player [icon name=”download” class=”” unprefixed_class=””]
- Download Intel Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager (HAXM) driver from the link above and install it on your PC.
- Extract the downloaded haxm-windows_v6_0_3.zip file and then run intelhaxm-android.exe file from the extracted files.
- Download and run Remix OS Player.exe file on your Windows PC. It’ll extract installation files to a RemixOSPlayer folder.
- Open RemixOSPlayer folder and run RemixOSPlayer.exe file. You’ll see setup screen for Remix OS Player.
- Click on Advanced settings checkbox, and configure CPU, RAM and Display resolution as per your preference.
- Once done, click on the Start button. Remix OS Player will start loading.
└ If you get “ERROR: x86_64 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration”. Then it means you don’t have Intel HAXM driver indtalled on your PC. Refer to Step 1. - Once Remix OS Player is loaded, you’ll see a Select your language screen. Go ahead and setup the Player like you setup and Android device.
- Once setup is complete, go to Settings » Accounts » Add account » and add your Google account to be able to use Play Store app on the Remix OS Player.
- Click on the Remix OS icon on bottom left corner to open app drawer and select Play Store appto download your favorite Android Apps and Games.
- Once downloaded, you can play Android Games on your PC using Remix OS Player.

I am a bit paranoid regarding “my” google account, where I have huge amount of data in the cloud. it’s also my developer account for my apps.
Do you consider it “safe” to use a “real productive” google account inside Remix?
I mean, as far as I know, google removed their support from Jide, they are no longer allowed to use the play store. So, might not google lock down the accounts using Remix as they clearly stated, Remix is “not a licensed system” and explicitly revoked play store access?
Whatever backdoor is used here with the play store activator… would you really use your REAL account here?
On the other hand, such a system makes absolutely no sense, if you can’t use your real account (or put it in danger), as you wouldnt have the contacts, drive, paid apps, your _everything_ then.
