Well, what do you know, Google is looking forward to deliver the best software and hardware experience combined. How will they do that, you ask? The same way Apple does it, by making their custom Google chipset. That’s some really exciting news to hear now.
Adding on that, Google has just hired an Apple chip Architect, Manu Gulati, to work on making their own chip. This is the same guy who worked on creating Apple’s A series chipsets which are known for near perfect optimization with iOS. The problem with Android right now is fragmentation. Hundreds of OEMs, each with a varying set of specifications coupled with different skins running on top of Android leading​ to a fluctuation in the performance department.
Right now, solving each OEM’s problems is too complicated but what Google can do is to implement their own SoC onto their Pixel lineup for better optimisation. In fact, ever since Apple did it we had been waiting to see it happen on Android. The problem at hand right now is that we won’t be able to see this any time soon, as the Pixel 2 isn’t that far off from a release.

The Pixel 3 on the other hand looks like a more likely target for this revolutionary new processor. This isn’t exactly news to be honest as the company has been planning this for about two years now. We’re just hoping that the tech comes out in time to take on the growing competition. But hey, this is Google we’re talking about here. Virtually anything is possible for them.
