Panasonic Eluga U2 is a budget smartphone with semi-premium specs

Although Panasonic is a really popular brand, it is not a well known name in the smartphones business. However, the company had us surprised with its Lumix CM1 camera smartphone at the CES 2015 in January. And now, it seems like Panasonic is stepping further into the smartphone games with a mid-range phone, Eluga U2.

Panasonic Eluga U2 is the company’s first smartphone to operate on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box! This affordable phone sports a 5-inch 720p IPS display and packs 2GB of RAM and has up to 16GB of internal storage. It is backed by a 2,500mAh battery and is powered by a 64-bit quad core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.

The new device has a 13MP camera at the back and a 5MP camera on the front which makes it really good for video calls. The phone measures 141.5 x 71 x 7.95mm and weighs 131 grams. Currently the device is priced at $254 and is on sale. Well right now it is just available in the Taiwan market and there are no details regarding its availability in other markets. On the whole, the Eluga U2 looks like a pretty good phone and Panasonic will surely prove to be a competitive manufacturer in the smartphone company.
