[Update: Philippines too] Huawei Y5 2017 support page goes live in Egypt

Update [June 08, 2017]: Looks like Huawei is targeting more than one country here, as the Y5 2017 looks set to launch in Philippines too, where also the support page for the device went live today.


Announced in April, followed by its launch in Armenia and Turkey, the Huawei Y5 2017 will soon launch in Egypt. And who told us this? A little birdie.

Umm, No. Huawei has made the support page live for the Huawei Y5 2017, which clearly means the device will soon land on the Egyptian soil.

The mid-range device from Huawei, Huawei Y5 2017, which is a successor to Huawei Y560 (also known as Huawei Y5) boasts of curvy lines, textured body and a 5-inch HD display.

About the other specs of the device, the smartphone features MediaTek MT6737T processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. The processor is clocked at 1.4 GHz. Further, the phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top.

In the camera segment, the device packs an 8MP rear camera with dual flash while at the front there’s a 5MP selfie shooter. Juice is provided by a 3000mAh battery, which Huawei claims has 80% capacity retention rate even after 800 charges.

Although availability and price details for Egypt are currently unknown, it will most probably ship in five color variants of Gold, Pink, Blue, White, and Gray.

Meanwhile, Huawei recently released all the 2017 variants of its Y series: Y3, Y5, and Y7.
