The yesteryear killer flagship smartphone from OnePlus is one of the most astonishing devices in the market. Right from its official launch, the device created a huge response among the consumers and its sales reached near the 1 million mark.

Though the OnePlus One did not manage to sell like the flagship smartphones launched by other vendors, the invite system created a demand for the smartphone. Also, its reasonable pricing point is an added advantage for the OnePlus flagship.

For quite sometime, we have been hearing about the OnePlus 2 smartphone that is the sequel to the last year’s flagship device from the Chinese firm. As per Bloomberg, the firm has bigger plans this year as it hopes to sell around 3 to 5 million units of smartphones by the end of this year. It is also bullish on selling 10 million units in the next year.

We have been getting to know a lot of details about the OnePlus 2 and now, this report confirms that the smartphone will be launched in the third quarter of this year. The report also claims that the firm is prepping another new device that will be a cheaper model and it is likely to be released by the end of this year.

As of now, there is no clue on when this cheaper smartphone from OnePlus will be going official, but the firm’s Director Carl Pei revealed that a device made for a different type of audience, perhaps for the users who appreciate design more than specs is in the making.

Going by the reports, the OnePlus 2 might arrive with an octa core Snapdragon 810 processor as in the latest flagship devices such as HTC One M9 and LG G Flex 2, a fingerprint scanner and expansible storage support using a micro SD card. The OnePlus 2 might be more expensive than its prequel that costs $299.
