Recently, Google announced that their Assistant is rolling out all smartphones and devices running Android Marshmallow and later. And while all of the smartphones with Marshmallow did get the feature, tablet devices were left behind.

The Assistant will be available on Android Marshmallow and Nougat phones with Google Play Services, this does not include tablets.

Now that’s sad news, but don’t give up just yet. Even if the Google Assistant isn’t officially supported on tablet devices, there is a way to get it. This involves editing the build.prop file on your tablet device, but then, that requires root permissions. You can find the tutorial on XDA forums.
