Nexus 8 to release with Android 4.5, 3GB RAM and Qualcomm 64-bit processor

Among the leaks of prime edition of flagship devices from HTC, Samsung and LG since the past few weeks, we also have been hearing rumors about the next tablet from Google, the Nexus 8. So far, we learned that the tablet will be sporting a 64-bit processor from Intel and have an 8-inch display and is expected to be announced at Google I/O later this month.

Now, adding up more spice to the Nexus 8 story, the latest rumor re-confirms the 64-bit processor but suggests it’ll be a Qualcomm 64-bit chip instead of Intel’s. Also, the Nexus 8 will be releasing with Android 4.5 on board and 3GB RAM.

Google already released the Android 4.4.3 update, so it’s pretty clear now that a new version of Android will be announced at Google I/O. Also, Google has always announced a new device along with major Android updates, so chances are super good that Nexus 8 is for real and it will be releasing with Android 4.5 later this month.

Also, if Nexus 8 is going to be releasing with Android 4.5 and will be running on a 64-bit processor, then this brings Android to the world of 64-bit processors. Exciting, isn’t it?

Nexus 8 Specs (rumored):

  • 64-bit Qualcomm processor
  • Android 4.5
  • 3GB RAM
  • 8 inch display
