Nexus 4 Price and Specs officially announced

Official Nexus 4

Hurricane Sandy may be running rampant in New York and Google may have cancelled its event but boy! there’s nothing stopping them from making the big announcement.

Andy Rubin (SVP, Mobile and Digital Content) today posted on Google’s official Blog about the Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and a brand new Nexus 7, read on… The Playground is open!

The Nexus 4 (developed with LG) is google’s latest smartphone and running under the hood is a quad core processor, the device also flaunts a 4.7 inch display with a pixel density of 320ppi and also incorporates wireless charging when the device is placed on a charging surface.

The phones hardware may not be different from what we have already heard from countless leaks and rumors however the software that powers this beauty is Android 4.2 (It is not Key Lime Pie but simply a new flavor of Jelly Bean) and google has packed some pretty impressive features into it.

Android 4.2 — the simplest and smartest version of Android yet brings along with it some goodies like Photosphere which allows users to take 360 degree panoramic images for use in Google Maps for the world to see or you could simply just post them on Google+, other features include Swype like keyboard dubbed ‘Gesture Typing’ and Miracast – a feature that lets users stream movies and videos from their Android device or YouTube onto an HDTV wirelessly.

The greatest improvement although is the Mammoth amount of knowledge Google Now brings to the table, it simply challenges users to “Ask me anything!”

Nexus 4 (8GB) will be available unlocked and without a contract on the 13th of November for $299 and similarly a 16GB version would also be available for $349 on the Google Play Store in the U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Canada.
