New Xiaomi phone with model no. MDG2 passes through FCC, could be Mi 5X

A new unannounced Xiaomi phone with the model number MDG2 has been cleared by FCC recently which indicates that the smartphone in question will see the light of day very soon.

Now, we are not entirely sure, but this could very well be the Xiaomi Mi 5X which has constantly been in the news for the past couple of days or so. Besides, the company had also confirmed yesterday that the Mi 5X would be launched on July 26.

The listing, as usual, doesn’t reveal much except for the inclusion of a 3,000mAh battery. But guess what, we already know pretty much everything about the handset in terms of specs, thanks to the previous leaks.

Speaking of which, the Xiaomi Mi 5X is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage. It will reportedly come with Android Nougat-powered MIUI 9 out of the box.

There will be a dual camera setup on the back as you can see from the image above. Right below the camera module will be the fingerprint scanner.

The Xiaomi Mi 5X is expected to come in three color variants: Rose Gold, Gold, and Black. The smartphone will apparently priced at CNY 1999 (approximately $295).
