Weibo has brought us yet another snippet of information on a new Xiaomi device that is codenamed as MDE 2. It has never been easier though to set a relation between Xiaomi devices codenames so we’ll be making our best guess only at what this upcoming new device from the Chinese manufacturer could be.
We’re hoping that this device could be the Mi Note 3 or the bezel-less Mi Mix 2, but we prefer leaning more towards to the latter. Perhaps, this time we’ll get to see a true bezel-less display much like Sharp’s new smartphone. We also expect this new device to ship with MIUI 9 which will be bringing a complete visual overhaul compared to MIUI 8.
Truth be told, the Mi Mix fits the status of the company’s flagship much more than the current Mi 6 does. Based on a previous report, this mystery device could also support a 18:9 aspect ratio giving us further proof that it could be the next version of the Mix.

Contrary to the image painted in people’s head that the Chinese company simply copies other major brands, Xiaomi actually invests a lot of time and money into its own innovation sector. This is what brought us a device like Mi Mix and which is probably what will make it stand out in the near future.
