New OnePlus 5 update that fixes 911 reboot issue rolling out now as OxygenOS 4.5.6

OnePlus 5

It’s been exactly a month since OnePlus had launched its latest flagship handset called the OnePlus 5. Now, it’s a stellar phone, and for what it’s worth, it’s a good value-for-money product.

But, the smartphone has had its fair share of issues in the past month. First, there was the “jelly scrolling” effect, then there was the audio issue followed by issues surrounding the Wi-Fi. And, the latest issue to have joined the list is the “911 reboot” issue.

For the unaware, a few units of OnePlus 5, on dialing 911 rebooted instead of connecting to the emergency service. Now, this is a serious issue. Acknowledging the same, a OnePlus spokesperson had issued a statement suggesting that the “company is looking into the issue.”

Well, engineers at OnePlus seem to have discovered the problem. We say this, as the company is currently rolling out a new software update arriving as the OxygenOS 4.5.6 to fix the “911 reboot” issue.

As is the case with any other update, the OTA update which brings the hot fix for the issue is being rolled out incrementally. Which means, it could take a while for the OTA to reach all the handsets across the globe.
