The Moto Z Play was launched back in September with 2.0GHz octa-core processor in Snapdragon 625. But we’ve just spotted a Moto Z Play with a quad-core chipset, made by Qualcomm only, listed at Indonesia’s certification agency. The listing shows the model no. of the device as XT1635, which belongs to Moto Z Play.
This rumored device may feature a lower powered processor and may be aimed at the budget market. But given that Z Play is already available in most part of the world, it remains puzzling as of now whether Motorola is really planning to reduce the Z Play’s price by lowering down the specs.
Meanwhile, Moto Z Play is getting nearer to a its Nougat release, which is projected to be available in first week of January 2017. Other Motorola smartphones are also in line for the Nougat update.
The Moto Z (Telus) has already received the Nougat update in US, and now Canada too. CyanogenMod 14.1 is also available for the original Moto Z now, in case you were looking for a custom ROM with a lot of custom features, and wouldn’t want to wait for the official Nougat build.
