Moto G4 gets the official Nougat update in US

The Android 7.0 Nougat update is now being seeded to the US variants of Moto G4 (XT1625). Users of the device will receive the update as an OTA download.

The software version for this update is NPJ25.93-14 and it is being released gradually. If you happen own a Moto G4 XT1625 variant, you will soon get the update, in case you haven’t already.

This isn’t the first rollout of the Nougat update for Moto G4 in the United States. Earlier this month, Republic Wireless had seeded the update to a few users as part of a maintenance release. It was basically a soak test for the software.

However, Motorola has now officially begun Android 7.0 rollout in the States. And hopefully, the carrier branded variants of the device will also get the update soon enough.

  1. Retus is not a US carrier, it’s the software channel of the device… It stands for RETail US, meaning the phone was purchased unlocked rather than from a carrier.
