MG Android gaming device now available for purchase, priced $149

The first dedicated, pocketable Wi-Fi app gaming system running on Android has gone on sale, called the MG, for an introductory price of $150, which is $20 off MSRP.

Aimed specifically at youngsters, the MG sports a 4-inch high-density Gorilla Glass touch screen, 8GB microSD card (no internal storage), and a 1880 mAh battery for long play times. There’s also a 1.3 megapixel front camera on the handheld, used for unlocking it via the Face Unlock feature, which is part of the parental control Family Collaboration system that allows parents to grant an allowance to their kids to use on games, without handing over their credit card details to them.

The MG also comes pre-loaded with $10 worth of free games, including titles like EA’s NBA Jam and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, and Com2US’ Slice It, Swing Shot, Homerun Battle 2, Tiny Farm, Tower Defense, 9 Innings Baseball, Super Action Hero and Derby Days. The device also includes the MG Origins Avatar System, which unlocks the player’s avatar as they earn points from other games on the device.

The MG is currently available for purchase from both Amazon and the manufacture’s official website. Make sure to grab it while the introductory discount is still in effect, though even without the discount, the MG looks to be a great deal for a dedicated Android gaming device.
