Meet the LG Optimus LTE2 — Features 2 GB of RAM!

LG Optimus LTE2

Yes, you’re reading it right. No, you really are. The Optimus LTE2 will feature 2 GB of RAM, making it the first smartphone to ever do so. Choosing not quite the right day for the announcement, LG unveiled the Optimus LTE2 on the same day as Samsung’s hotly anticipated Galaxy S3 event, with the most defining feature being the 2 gigs of RAM which should ensure that multitasking is never a problem.

LG is also touting their TrueHD IPS display, something which they compared to Samsung’s HD SAMOLED displays some time ago. Basically, the true HD part doesn’t mean that you’ll see a 1080p display on the phone, but that the display uses the RGB matrix unlike the PenTile RGBG matrix on the Galaxy S3’s display, providing a sharper picture and containing all the pixels, hence having a true HD resolution.

Other specs of the LTE2 include wireless induction charging, LTE connectivity (of course), a voice-operated camera, 2150 mAh battery and Android 4.0. The processor will likely be the Snapdragon (probably S4 Krait) due to the LTE connectivity, but that remains to be seen.

The Optimus LTE2 should go on sale in Korea in mid-May, but international availability dates still a mystery. We’ll keep you updated as we find out more details.
