Maybe Google just hinted Android 5.0 to us, maybe not.

Well, tell you what, ever since the days of Gingerbread and Nexus S, the press pics of the Nexus devices have always had good hint of the OS it would come pre-installed with, that is signalling the next Android OS version. And it was done in the form of time shown in the clock in notification bar.

Yes. Btw, here’s the time that the clock in the notification bar was showing for the Nexus devices: Nexus S – 2:30 (Gingerbread), Galaxy Nexus – 4:00 (ICS), Nexus 7 – 4:10 (JellyBean, Android 4.1), Nexus 4 – 4:20 (Android 4.2) and Nexus 5 – 4:40 (Android 4.4, KitKat).

So, if you buy into the whole thing related to the time shown in the screenshots (at top) Google posted to its twitter account to make a point of how easy it’s to follow world cup with Google now, Google just teased Android 5.0 for you. Otherwise, think over it, man! It’s a hint!

So, that means no Android 4.5, and 5.0 is the next version of Android. Well, we would know for sure when next Google I/O kicks off in a matter of weeks, on June 25.

So, what do you believe?

Here’s a proof of Nexus devices with their clock and time, subtly hinting at the next Android OS version, all of which became true.
