LG, which has had all the rumor markets abuzz with speculation about its upcoming smartphone — assumed to be the G4 — in spite of no official word from the company itself has sent out invitations for an event where we finally hope to see the G series scion unveiled. The invitation, which is for the 28 and 29th of April is supposedly for an event which may see the G4 see the daylights before audiences in New York, Seoul, London, Paris, Singapore, and Istanbul.

The device is expected to carry on the G series’s tradition of classy, sophisticated looking powerhouses and take it to the next level. The background on the invitation depicts quite a bit of leather so it would probably be a good idea to assume that leather forms part of the decor. Spec wise, the phone is expected to be able to keep its own with any device out there coming with Snapdragon 808 or 810 chipset. On the camera front we expect at least a 16 MP one with Optical Image Stability — which is becoming a must have on top end devices — on the device’s back.

Similarly, the software end of the device is expected to be quite different with several new additions. In what may just be a first, users will have two options on the interface of the device. While those seeking simplicity can opt for the basic mode — which offers a clutter free, straight forward experience — the expert mode enables you to drive the device across its full range of potential. For example, while the basic mode lets you have the standard point and shoot camera, the expert mode lets you have access to a whole bunch of capturing options to choose from.

While LG has ramped up the already high expectations that we had from the device with its tagline of “See the Great, Feel the Great,” we hope LG’s newest offering lives up to them. Well, only time will tell. In the meanwhile, stay tuned as we bring you more on all things android.
