After letting some odd 2000 users in Korea back in September, the LG G5 Nougat update is now live in Korea for all. You need to use LG Bridge software to update your G5 to Android 7.0 update, LG says in the announcement (in Korean in above pic).

Though, we think the G5 Nougat update s available as an OTA too, and it shouldn’t be long before we are able to grab a Nougat firmware too for your G5. LG has kept silent on when they plan to release the Nougat update for G5 users in US at T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and AT&T, but we think those details will come out pretty soon, along with release details for Asian and European countries.

LG claims that they are first to serve Nougat update outside of Nexus and Android One devices, and they are completely correct too, as the 7.0 update is available, but only in beta type from some other major OEMs, given below:

  • Samsung Nougat update:- Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Huawei Nougat update beta:- Honor 8 (India only)
  • Sony Nougat update:- Xperia X Performance

If you are able to grab the Android 7.0 update on your LG G5, do let us know how is it faring for you.
