Lenovo LePhone K2 to arrive with 4.3-inch IPS display, 1.5GHz dual-core chip

I’ve always believed that it is best to buy a product from a manufacturer that specializes in it. One of the reasons I was never inclined to go for the Dell Streak when it first came out, although I also believe that Dell makes some of the best computers in the world, and I personally still use my trusty old XPS M1330.

But having said that, it appears that every tech gadget manufacturer worth its salt seems to be making a beeline for the Android bandwagon. Personally, i think it just increases the luxury of choice, that a buyer already has as far as Android handsets go today. So who’s complaining??

On the heels of the LePad S2005, Lenovo’s 5″ Gingerbread powered tabletphone, Lenovo has announced the LePhone K2 with a 4.3″ IPS display (we are still awaiting information on the resolution but feel that it will be at a minimum of 480×800), a powerful dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 chip, 1GB RAM, 1GB ROM and an eight megapixel 1080p camera.

The surprising part is that this beast packs Android 2.3.5 instead of Android 4.0 or ICe Cream Sandwich, which is the flavor of all worthy gadgets set for launch in 2012.

The pricing or release date is still not known, so there is still a fair chance that we may see ICS on this device when it is eventually launched.
