Following the launch of the A6000 Plus, Lenovo quietly launched the A5000 in the country. The device is available for preorder via the firm’s TheDoStore for a pricing of Rs 9,999 and the shipping date is listed as April 30.

The highlight of the Lenovo A5000 is its 4,000 mAh battery that is touted to render up to 17 hours of talk time and up to 792 hours of standby time respectively on 3G networks. The official listing confirms that the Lenovo A5000 will support only 3G and not 4G LTE like the others in the A series.

The Lenovo A5000 dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and it houses a 5 inch HD 720p IPS display resulting in a pixel density of 300 ppi. The device is claimed to have rain and splash proof screen protection.

The Lenovo A5000 is equipped with a 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor teamed up with 1 GB of RAM and Mali T760-MP2 graphics unit. It packs in 8 GB of inbuilt storage space that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. There is an 8 MP main snapper at its back with LED flash and a 2 MP front facing selfie snapper onboard.

The Lenovo smartphone comes packed with the usual connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and 3G. The company claims that the battery backup is complemented by the Quick Charge feature that charges the battery completely in 3 hours and provides 4 hours of talk time on charging it for 15 minutes.

The pricing of the Lenovo A5000 seems to be expensive as the handset does not carry any improved aspect as the Lenovo A6000 and A6000 Plus other than the battery. These smartphones are priced affordably and they arrive with 4G LTE support as well.
