Leaked Sony Xperia Yuga images hint at Glass back panel

The rumored Sony Yuga has been making appearances off and on in leaks and benchmark results over the past few weeks. While not a lot of verified intel is currently available for this device, except for two things that benchmark results confirm a Snapdragon  S4 Pro quad-core processor and a 1080p display – probably 5 inches or more.

A new leaked image, although just a partial one, of what is supposedly the Sony Yuga C650X, has surfaced today. Japanese blog Blue Ringer Men reports that it seems the back of the phone, which was earlier said to be made of plastic or al aluminum base, could now have changed to a glass-based material, likening the feel to that of the newer iPhones.

Other Main specs listed by Blue Ringer Men are:

  • Snapdragon S4pro 1.5Ghz Quad-Core Processor + MDM9615 (Baseband chip)
  • 5.0 inches full HD display (1920 × 1080)
  • 2GB of RAM
  • Storage capacity of 32GB (compatible microSD)
  • 16 MP Rear Shooter, 2 MP front-facing camera
  • Bluetooth 4.0, NFC
  • 2500 or 2800mAh battery

There have also been speculation among Android enthusiasts that the Yuga could well be a Nexus device being readied by Sony. Other reports suggest that Sony is likely to announce the Yuga at MWC or Mobile World Congress 2013 held between 25th – 28th Feb 2013 at Barcelona . The MWC is the biggest and most heavily covered events in the Mobile communications world, making it the ideal launching pad for manufacturers to showcase their flagship devices.

Sony sure seems to have its hands full with an impressive lineup of high-end devices for 2013. Let’s hope there is a Sony Nexus lurking somewhere in that portfolio, eh?

    1. Never get a Sony… It takes too much too rolls out Android updates.
If you choose Android go for Samsung or HTC
