Install Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense Launcher on HTC myTouch 4G. No Whole Sense UI, Though!

Listen up, myTouch 4G owners!! We have a brand new custom Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for you. Its time to get your flashing hat on!! XDA member saranhai has just released his Beta version of a Android 4.0.3 or Ice Cream Sandwich Custom ROM, called Creamed Sense. It is based on febycv’s Creamed Glacier ROM for the same device, and includes the Sense launcher which many of us HTC users cannot do without. Also, the entire user interface or UI is not 100% HTC Sense, but then this is a custom ROM, and if it looks exactly the same as stock, then why call it custom, right?

The ROM is still in Beta stage, which means that one should expect some bugs. What this also means is, that the development team is actively working on improving the ROM and ironing out these knows issues. Lets take a quick peek at the known issues :

Bugs

• Camera DOES NOT WORK.
• Bluetooth A2DP (mono headset works)
• Since this is based on febycv’s Port, expect the bugs you find in there to be here as well.

The steps and methods included in this guide are considered risky. Please do not attempt to try this unless you know exactly what you are doing, as it may render your device unusable, and your pocket lighter by the amount it takes to replace it. You have been forewarned!!!

Compatibility

This guide is applicable only for the T-Mobile myTouch 4G. Check your phone’s version in Settings – About Phone. Flashing this ROM on any other device might prove dangerous, and may brick your device.

Pre-Installation Requirements

• Installing/Flashing this ROM will erase your apps and data. So, it’s very important you back them up, before proceeding further. This excellent Android backup guide would help you.
• Rooted/S-off myTouch 4G with Clockworkmod recovery installed. If you’re not rooted, you can use this excellent link as a resource
• Fully Charged Battery

How To Install the Creamed Sense Beta ROM on the myTouch 4G

1. Download the Creamed Sense Beta ROM (link provided above) to your PC 
2. Connect your phone to PC via USB cable and transfer the downloaded file to the root of the external SD card
3. Switch off the phone and reboot into recovery (Volume Down + Power button together)
4. Once you are in Clockworkmod Recovery, scroll to Backup & Restore and select Backup ( This will make a full backup of your existing ROM, and save it to the sdcard. You can restore from this backup, if something gets messed up with the installation.)
5. Now Perform a full wipe.  1) Navigate to Wipe data/Factory Reset–>Confirm wipe on the next screen 2) Go to Wipe Cache Partition –> Confirm Wipe Cache on the next screen 3) From the Main menu, select Advanced–>Wipe Dalvik Cache–>On  the next screen confirm Wipe dalvik
6. Now select install Zip from sdcard–> Choose zip from sd card –> Select the ‘creamed sense beta v1.zip’  file you transferred in Step 2. This will start flashing the ROM to your device.
7. Once installation is complete, go the main menu and select Reboot system.
8. Wait for the system to boot up. The first boot may take a little longer than usual, but don’t worry; this is normal.
9. Congratulations!!! You are now running Creamed Sense Beta v1 on your myTouch 4G.
