Huawei on Monday announced its intention to launch the Honor 6 Plus smartphone in India on the 24th of March. The Honor series which consists of four smartphones has already made its debut in India and two of the Honor devices already sell here via online retailer Flipkart.
The soon to come 6 Plus has a 5.5 inch screen and comes with octa core processors. The device has an internal memory of 32 GB which can be expanded upto 128 GB via the use of an external SD card. While all this is pretty standard, the phone’s two big plus points are its battery and the camera.
According to the company, the extra large battery with a battery capacity of 595Wh/L can see ordinary users through over 2.81 days while even with heavy users, the battery lasts well over a day. The camera is another big plus coming with the Honor 6 Plus. Both the front as well as the rear cam boast of a 8 MP resolution and feature bionic parallel dual lenses — allowing you to click great pictures and selfies.
Huawei also acknowledged the importance of India in its future agenda when it declared that it will be investing $10 million in 2015 to improve its presence in the Indian market, half of which goes towards the online establishment of “Honor” on e-commerce platforms.
Well, seems like the days when the words “Chinese phones” were used as an expletive are long gone because today they no longer imply devices that are cheap and short lived but refer to high end devices able to take on any comers in the market. This has been possible only thanks to the introduction of companies such as Xiaomi, Huawei — among others — into Indian market, and while the companies explore the tremendous potential of India’s growing economy, the consumers avail themselves of better technology at way more affordable prices.
