Huawei P20 Plus to cost about $950 for a 256GB model?

Huawei has revived efforts to take over the massive mobile market in the European and American markets. A large part of this includes the release of the next great flagship – the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus, which is set to release on March 27 at an event in Paris.

We’ve already covered in detail what you can expect from the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus, and the latest report just confirms it all. A popular leaker who goes by the name of ichangezone took the Chinese social media platform Weibo to announce revealing details of the upcoming flagships from Huawei.

In a series of posts, it’s been hinted that the premium variant, the Huawei P20 Plus could cost as much as 6000 Yuan, giving it a lofty price tag of around $950. This price puts the upcoming flagship on the upper end of the price scale, but with the features and hardware would back it up.

The $950 price tag signals that a 256GB variant could be in the works, with the high-powered Kirin 970 SoC that currently powers the Mate 10. With the ProTriple-lens design that we’ve already discovered, you can expect the camera quality to exceed that of the current top Huawei smartphones.

All of this will allegedly be housed in a chassis with IP68 water and dust resistant rating, pitching it directly against the best in the business. But the biggest surprise from the latest leak could the launch of an in-display fingerprint scanner.

We’ve already seen Vivo feature the first ever smartphone with the tech at CES 2018, so the technology isn’t far-fetched anymore.
