Huawei Nova Smart and Y5 2017 look set for release, gets certified in Russia

Two new Huawei devices have been spotted being certified in Russia. The 2017 variant of the Huawei Y5 which carries the model number MYA-L22, and the Huawei Nova smart (Model number DIG-L21), happen to be the upcoming smartphones and may release within Q2 this year.

The Huawei Y5 2017, which was announced a few weeks back, succeeds the Y5II from last year . The 2017 Y5 features an upgrade to 2GB of RAM and a slightly faster MediaTek MT6737T chipset. The device also feature the same display and resolution, given that it still sits in the mid range spectrum. This year, we also get to see a bigger 3000mAh battery on board.

Coming to the Huawei Nova Smart, the Nova series devices tend to perform a lot better than the former device. The upcoming Nova Youth which debuted its color options recently, came with 4GB of RAM and a pretty powerful chipset. This trend is seen on the Huawei Nova and Nova Plus too.

So, we could expect the Nova Smart to feature a specsheet within the same performance range as its siblings. The device may come with at least 3GB and may run on an octa-core in-house Kirin chipset. Considering that the Nova smart may pack in decent internals, Huawei may ship the device with Nougat too.

Now that the certification details have leaked out, we could take an educated guess for the release of these smartphones. The Huawei Y5 is already up on Huawei’s website and may release in the month of May and the Nova Smart may also follow suit and release around the same time.
