Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus launched; prices set at 2499 ($365) and ¥2899 ($420)

The Huawei Nova 2 (Aurora Blue color above) and Nova 2 Plus (Grass Green color below) have just been launched and are available as of now on Huawei’s official online store, Vmall. The devices which carry model numbers BAC-AL00 and PIC-AL00 are priced at 2499 Yuan ($365) and 2899 Yuan ($420) respectively.

Jumping to the specs, the Huawei Nova 2 features a 5-inch 1080p display and is powered by the octa-core Kirin 659 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM. The device runs on an ample 2950mAh battery, has 12MP+8MP dual rear shooters and a 20MP front facing camera. The back of the device features a fingerprint reader and the bottom houses a USB type-C port.

As for the Nova 2 Plus, the device comes with a larger 5.5-inch FHD display which slightly lowers the pixel density. The processor and RAM on board are the same as the Nova 2 but storage has been bumped up to 128GB and like the Nova 2, it can be expanded via microSD. The same portfolio of cameras are present on the Nova 2 Plus too along with a larger 3340mAh battery.

Coming to design aspect, both devices look almost the same and have the same slim profile at 6.9mm. The Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus run EMUI 5.1 sitting on top of Android 7.0 Nougat. All in all, Huawei has done a great job in putting together quite the premium device.
