Huawei Honor 6X Android 7.0 Nougat update rolling out in China, build B357

After months of testing, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is finally rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Honor 6X.

The fact that the smartphone was still on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EMUI 4.1 during its launch was quite a bummer for many. Even worse was the announcement that indicated Nougat would come to Honor 6X sometime in Q2. Interestingly, though, the company recently confirmed to roll out the update no later than March.

Keeping its word, Huawei has now started seeding Android 7.0 Nougat update with build B357 in China. Do note that the update is being pushed out in batches which means it may take some time for it to hit your devices.

The update is rolling out to all four variants of Honor 6X in China — BLN-AL10, BLN-AL20, BLN-TL10 and BLN-TL00. For those who were already running the Android 7.0 Nougat beta build (B351) on their Honor 6X, an OTA update of 259MB is rolling out for the official firmware build B357. While those running on the Marshmallow based B172 firmware, the B357 update is coming in at 2.15GB in size.

The Nougat update, as usual, adds all new features that it has in store. Meaning, users will now be able to use the multi-window mode for better multi-tasking or simply turn on the improved Doze mode to squeeze additional battery life from the smartphone.

Huawei posts that the update is based on user feedback and is tailor-made for the Honor 6X. However, the specifics surrounding the update are scarce at the moment, and we can’t really confirm anything now.
