HTC Wildfire gets android 2.2 Froyo update

HTC Wildfire Android 2.2 Froyo Update

If you ask us for a best looking android phone that’s easy on your pocket too, the HTC Wildfire is what we would recommend to you. The device looks very pretty — in fact, better than all phones in its price range. The Wildfire was shipped with android 2.1, but it is now being updated to android 2.2 world, albeit in phases.

The first one to distribute the android 2.2 on Wildfire is Vodafone UK, beginning today. Next in line are the other European markets which should get the update real soon, while the rest of the world are destined to the Froyo goodness only by February.

Only recently, Samsung upgraded its Intercept android device to 2.2, while LG has always been selling its LG Optimus One phone pre-loaded with android 2.2, which helped it sell over 2 million units in just 60 days.

It’s clear that the battle in high-end smartphone market is just one side of the war, the other being budget phone segment where it looks like each company is paying due attention now after LG’s dramatic Optimus One run. What do you think?
