HTC U11 price and launch leaks out for China

HTC has an event lined up on May 16, where it could unveil the U11 Android smartphone, company’s 2017 flagship and successor to HTC 10. Moreover, the device could be available for purchase pretty soon too, at least in China, where the pre-order could begin as soon as May 19 if the today’s rumor is to be believed.

In fact, we also have the HTC U11 price rumored today. It says there that for a mere amount of 4545 yuan ($650 approx.), you will be able to order an HTC U11 in China come May 19. Considering the price of Galaxy S8 and LG G6, the U11 seems very competitively priced. No?

Tidbits about HTC U11 have been coming in for a long time now. HTC U11 is expected to feature Snapdragon 835 processor (it also powers Galaxy S8 sets in USA, and Xiaomi Mi6), along with 4GB /6GB RAM coupled with 64GB storage. It would also harbor a cool 5.5-inch Quad HD display with res of 1440 x 2560 pixels, and would run Android 7.1.1 right off the bat, topped with HTC’s own Sense UI skin in version 9.

Even though HTC hasn’t been the best when it comes to camera specifics, we hope that this time around, with a 12MP camera of ultra-pixel type, and 16MP front facing camera, HTC would be able to impress us again with U11.

You can expect the U11 to rock fingerprint scanner, and Google Assistant as the CUI, but the highlight part of the device would be something else: Edge Sense, that the company trademarked only a few days ago. HTC U11 could feature a squeezable body, that can be pushed a bit to swipe and make the phone open camera app and click a pic or two. Something we’re excited to learn more about.

Another unique feature rumored for HTC U11 is 360-degree video recording, that will also record audio in 3D. HTC U11 recently made it to Carphone Warehouse UK’s inventory, which only signals that we’re really close to its release.

FYI, HTC U11 was earlier thought of to be named as a pure HTC 10 successor, HTC 11.
