HTC trademarks ‘Edge Sense’, a new feature coming to HTC U11

HTC U 11

HTC has been teasing us for the past few weeks with their upcoming U series flagship phone which is rumored to be called as HTC U11. The phone will be coming with a unique new feature that will let you operate the device by squeezing on either sides of the metal frame, the feature was until now rumored to be called Edge Sense, and it got official with HTC filling for a trademark for “Edge Sense”.

The ‘Edge Sense’ trademark application is dated May 9th, 2017 and goes with application number 016698714. The trademark is filed at the EUIPO office (European Union Intellectual Property Office).

HTC will be taking the wraps off HTC U11 at May 16th, and we’ll for sure know how the Edge Sense feature will work in real world. Because, it does seem a bit odd at the moment to be able to operate the device from body frame and not messing up your interaction with the phone.

Anyway, for anyone curious about availability of HTC U11, know that the device was earlier today spotted on the Carphone Warehouse inventory system. This probably means that HTC has already delivered the U11 to retailers, and will begin taking orders as soon as the device goes official on May 16th.
