HTC Droid DNA clears Wi-Fi certification, release date should be near

The HTC Droid DNA, which is basically the US version of the HTC J Butterfly, seems to be inching closer towards an official release via Verizon Wireless. The device has now cleared WiFi certification authorities, as reported by Japanese website Blog Of Mobile, who keeps a close watch on all the  happenings with certification authorities. The WiFi certification data further confirms that the device is introduced as the “HTC6435LVW DROID DNA by HTC for Verizon Wireless in the United States.”

Earlier today, the device getting somehow listed on the Verizon support page, has more or less confirmed that it would be launching on Verizon as the HTC Droid DNA, and the model number listed alongside is consistent with the introduction model numbering in the WiFi certification data. All we need now is just an official announcement from Verizon.

From what know about the specs so far, the HTC Droid DNA packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor coupled with 2GB RAM, a 5-inch 1080p display, 16GB internal storage, an 8 MP main camera, and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board. A global version of the device is also expected from HTC. It would be a real treat if Verizon announces this baby soon, and launches it well in time before the holidays kick in.

  1. I have been keeping a close eye on this phone for quite a while. The reality of this phone is becoming more apparent each and every day.

    1. When it was leaked the first time, we thought Verizon will be where we will see it first. But now that it’s already official in Japan, as HTC Butterfly, we hope it finally gets officially official. Before Christmas release is obvious, though.
