How to Install Xposed on Android 5.0.2 on LG G2

Xposed has grown to become as useful as having root access was once on Android. And the trouble Lollipop put on Xposed has been very worrying for a number of users, but thankfully Xposed is now getting more and more compatible with Lollipop, it even runs on the most recent 5.1 update on Moto X 2013.

Well, unlike the Moto X 2013, we’re are still on Android 5.0.2 on the LG G2. But the good news is that you can install Xposed on your G2 running 5.0.2 now. The process isn’t as simple as just installing Xposed installer .apk file, but you’ll be needing a custom recovery to flash several fixes and even remove spme of the system LG apps which might conflict with Xposed. Let’s get started.

Downloads

[icon name=”download” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] Download Xposed Installer 3.0 alpha (.apk) [icon name=”download” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] Download Xposed v65 SDK21 ARM (.zip) [icon name=”download” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] Download Xposed helper (.zip) [icon name=”download” class=”” unprefixed_class=””] Download Xposed Uninstaller (.zip)

Installing Xposed on LG G2 running Android 5.0.2

Root and custom recovery (TWRP, preferable) required

  1. Download and transfer all the 4 files linked above to your phone.
  2. Install the XposedInstaller_3.0-alpha4.apk file on your device.
  3. Boot into TWRP recovery and flash the Xposed Helper.zip file first. It’ll remove the conflicting LG apps (LG Quickcover and LG Weather) from your device.
  4. Now flash the xposed-v65-sdk21-arm.zip file.
  5. Do a “Clear dalvik/cache” after flashing the file above and then reboot your phone.

That’s all. Xposed should now be working on your LG G2 running Android 5.0.2. Cheers!

Bootloop issue?

In case you run into bootloop or force close issues on several system apps, then that is a problem and you should uninstall Xposed now:

  1. Download and transfer the xposed-uninstaller-arm.zip file to your phone (ignore if you already did in Step 1 above).
  2. Boot into recovery mode and flash the xposed-uninstaller-arm.zip file.
  3. Wipe cache and dalvik cache.
  4. Reboot phone.

  1. Okay it worked. Firstly i flashed it without xposed helper that caused bootloop. Don’t forget to flash it!

    1. Can I loose all my data in this way

      1. No, if your LG G2 is already rooted and have TWRP recovery installed. However, it’s always safe to take a backup of your important files like pictures, videos and other, plus a TWRP backup before flashing anything to your device is also safe for your device’ data.
