Honor 9 to release in China on June 20

The release date for the upcoming Honor 9, which would be launched in China as Huawei Glory 9, is being rumored in the unofficial channels today. According to a Weibo user known for providing consistent information, the Honor 9 is slated for launch in China, come June 20. Of late, the Honor 9 was leaked showing an all black body which could be all glass back with metal frame.

Based on the leaked image shown above, we can also confirm (to an extent, at least) that the Honor 9 may carry a dual lens setup. Huawei has already caught up on the dual camera front, so they shouldn’t have any problems in delivering excellent camera tech with the upcoming Honor 9. The main shooter could end up being a 20MP+12MP combo.

Coming to the specs, we’re still relying on rumors to piece together a rough picture. The upcoming smartphone may feature the Kirin 960 processor coupled with 4GB or even 6GB of RAM, and a 5.2-inch display. It’s still too early to confirm any of this, so do take it with a grain of salt.

We faithfully expect Huawei to ship the device with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, as Huawei has been maintaining a clean streak of timely updates to its major line of devices.
