Honor 6C launched in Italy

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor apart from launching the Honor 8 Pro in Europe had also introduced the Honor 6C in Italy. For those who are wondering, the Honor 6C is a watered down version of the Honor 6X and is priced accordingly.

The smartphone features a 5-inch LTPS HD display with a layer of 2.5D curved glass atop. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset with its cores clocked at 1.4GHz.

The Honor 6C has 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of onboard storage space. If you are someone who likes to hoard oodles of multimedia content on your smartphone, you can further expand its storage up to 128GB via a microSD card. But, since it comes with a hybrid SIM setup, you’ll have to forego the secondary SIM slot for the microSD card.

The imaging department is taken care of by a 13MP (f/2.2) sensor at the back along with a 5MP (f/2.2) selfie shooter.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers support for LTE Cat.7 for download speeds of up to 300Mbps. It also has Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS and the standard set of other connectivity features.

A 3,020mAh battery provides the juice for the entire package. Unfortunately, the Honor 6C still boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EMUI 4.1. It’s time smartphone vendors start pre-installing the latest software on their smartphones instead of using two-year-old OS.

The price, on the other hand, is also discomforting, as the Honor 6C ships at EUR 239. The device will face stiff competition from the likes of Moto G5 or even the Moto G5 Plus which also fall in a similar price range.
