H81110n: T-Mobile LG G4 receives update to fix Stagefright vulnerability

A new update with software version H81110n has made way towards T-Mobile LG G4 users, and while still based on Android 5.1 (no Marshmallow update yet obviously), the H81110n build carries Stagefright fix.

Make sure you are already on software version H81110h to be eligible for the H81110n update on T-Mobile LG G4. Moreover, the update’s size in 353 MB, so be sure to be near a WiFi connection. Also make sure you have battery of more than 50% remaining on your G4.

There is nothing else available as changelog, apart from the Stagefright fix for messaging related code. But because it’s massive 350+ MB update, we hope there are desperately needed software improvements baked into the update that makes G4 a bit faster than it currently is.

T-Mobile has already confirmed the H81110n update for its LG G4, and that it’s available as an OTA. If you haven’t received the H81110n update yet, then try to force the update from Settings > About device, tapping on the ‘check for update’ button under software update.

Btw, if you need to have root access on your device, then skip the update until you are sure that root access is available for your T-Mobile G4 on the Lollipop update. Find the T-Mobile LG G4 root here, btw.
