Google’s Nexus 7 arrives in Singapore and South Korea

Google’s first tablet – the Nexus 7 – will be going on sale in Singapore this Saturday, and is also available for pre-ordering in South Korea with a release in mid-October. This follows the Nexus 7’s release in Japan three days ago. Only the 16GB variant will be available though.

In Singapore, the Nexus 7 will cost S$399 (US$324.7), which is $76 more than the $250 price in the US, making some question the value of the tablet. In South Korea, the device will be sold at Google’s Korean retail partners Himart and Lotte Mart in mid-October, at 299,000 won (US$267.37).

The Nexus 7, manufactured by ASUS, is Google‘s first foray into the tablet market, with specs that include a 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 7-inch 1280×800 display, 1.3MP front camera with 720p video recording, and 4,325 mAh battery, and is the first device to run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.
