Google starts rolling out Suggested Sharing and Shared Libraries for Google Photos

The much-awaited new features of Google Photos, Suggested Sharing and Shared Libraries are now rolling out worldwide for all the platforms viz. Android, iOS, and the web.

Both the features were announced at Google I/O 2017 conference, however, the exact date for their rollout was not known until today. Google in its blog announced the arrival of suggested sharing and shared libraries for Google Photos.

To recall, suggested sharing will have its own tab at the bottom of the app and will use machine learning to automatically identify photos and suggest recipients. In the sharing tab, you will see your Google Photos sharing activity, besides that you’ll see your personal suggestions at the top, which is based on your sharing habits and the people in the photos. Suggested sharing works with Google Photos user and non-Google Photos user as well.

Similarly, the Shared Library function makes it extremely easy to share your camera roll with a particular contact. When a new photo is added to your camera roll, it will be shared automatically with the second person. Yes, you can change the settings as per your need and wish. You can restrict the type of photos that you want to share and set the date as well.

To access Shared Library, open the navigation drawer and tap “Share your Library”. The recipient can select the photos that he/she wants to save on their device.
