Google begins Android Instant Apps testing

After months of wait, Google has finally begun live testing of Instant Apps on Android, a system wherein you do not have to install the app from play store to be able to run it.

Yes, it’s crazy, and pure next-generation. Under this, the processing side of things takes place at Google servers, while your interaction should remain as good as the app installed on your Android device.

Instant Apps is an important part of our effort to help users discover and run apps with minimal friction.” — Google

If you ask us, it’s truly mind-blowing tech, one that would us save apps in real-time, and choose a favorite app — when surfing the play store for the best photo editor, for example — quicker than usual.

Updating to latest Play Store app (link provided above) may help in getting you Instant apps feature.

Google had entered into partnership with several Android app developers to test this one out behind the doors, and today, it goes live for some apps from some developers: BuzzFeed, Wish, Periscope, and Viki. We have linked these apps and their developer pages right below, so do check them out now. As the feature is not available for all users right now, if you’re in luck you may be able to check out instant apps in action.
