Google Pixel, Pixel XL and Nexus 6P OTA update with January security patch is ready, will be available on January 3rd 2017

Looks like the update with January Android security patch for the Google Pixel, Pixel XL and Nexus 6P are all ready at Rogers Canada. The OTA update will be released on January 3rd, according to leaked documents.

As seen in the leaked screenshot above, the OTA updates for the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, and the Nexus 6P are all security updates. Recently, Vodafone Australia also leaked details about the January security update for the Huawei Nexus 6P.

All the three devices are already running the latest Android 7.1.1 OS, but it looks like the carriers will push out the security updates before Google does. The search giant hasn’t given out any details about the January security patch, but as always, it is a necessary install.

The OTA update will rollout gradually, starting January 3 2017 and should take at least a week or two to be available on all devices. We will let you know as soon as the update is released.
