Google Nexus 6P to receive June security patch as build N2G47W on June 6

Google has announced that it will start pushing June security patch update to its premium smartphone Nexus 6P in the first of week of next month. To be precise, the roll out will commence on June 6th.

Arriving as build N2G47W, the new firmware update will be rolled out gradually over the air. It will bring June monthly security patch. And as is the case with regular updates, it should also optimize device performance and fix regular bugs.

The file size of the update is small and stands at only 33MB. Although a minor one, the update is highly recommended. As the update will be rolled out over the air, you’ll be prompted when it’s available for download. In case you miss the notification, you can check for it manually by heading to Settings > About device > System updates.

However, before installing the update, it is recommended to plug your phone into power or ensure that it’s fully charged so that you have ample power to complete the update. Also back up any important data and get connected to a WiFi network to avoid extra data charges.
