Samsung’s Gear VR, which sought to provide users with a virtual reality experience that was immersive and affordable at the same time ever since its release only last year, has been available for pre-order since last month in a brand new, revamped edition that is meant specifically for pairing with the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Well, it seems like the device is finally up for sale in the United States through Best Buy as well as via Samsung’s official website.
Christened as the Gear VR Innovators edition for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the device was announced back at the MWC Barcelona along with the South Korean Company’s flagship devices and features significant refinements over the previous models in both size and performance.
The new model while 15% smaller than its previous variants, has also been fitted with redesigned straps to make for a more comfortable fit along with inbuilt fans for improved airflow.
The original Gear VR was only compatible with the Galaxy Note 4 and as such, the number of audience was pretty small — considering that not everyone with a Note 4 wanted to buy the Gear VR as well. However with the brand new edition that supports the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, we certainly hope to see an increase in the number of people purchasing it.
