Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus International variants certified by FCC

Even as the release date of Samsung’s 2017 flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus nears, the devices have started making their appearances on certification agencies. The US agency Federal Communications Commission has given the green signal to the international variants of both the smartphones. Thus, the path for their release in the western countries and other regions outside Korea has been cleared.

A device with model number G950F, which belongs to Galaxy S8, has been spotted on FCC while the Galaxy S8 Plus on the certification site carries G955F as model number.

Samsung will be unveiling both the premium handsets at exclusive multiple events in New York an London March 29th. Priced at €799 and €899 respectively (reportedly), the Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices will likely come in Black, Silver and even Violet colors.

Galaxy S8 has been the under the rumor radar for quite a while, owing to which we know almost everything about the upcoming premium smartphone. A recent report suggested that Samsung might be working on releasing Galaxy S8 with a face scanner in addition to the rear mounted fingerprint scanner and front iris scanner.

Based on past leaks, Galaxy S8 is reported to sport 5.7 inch 4K display (2960 x 1440 pixels) with 83% screen-to-body ratio and first ever 18.5:9 aspect ratio while the screen size for Galaxy S8 Plus is 6.2- inch. Powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset, S8 and S8 Plus will pack in 3000mAh and 3500mAh battery respectively. The devices will rock Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
