At the IFA 2014 tech show, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 was unveiled alongside the Galaxy Note Edge. The latter was limited to select markets and it came in limited quantities only.

Following the same, this year, Samsung is believed to unveil the successor of both these devices at the IFA tech show in September. The recent rumors suggest that we might not be able to see the launch of a Galaxy Note Edge from the South Korean tech giant this time.

The rumor claims that Samsung will announce only the Galaxy Note 5 at the upcoming IFA 2015 tech show in September, and that there is no Galaxy Note Edge successor in the making.

The fifth generation Note 5 is said to feature a 5.89 inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and employ an octa core Exynos 7422 processor. The device is likely to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and arrive with 4G LTE and S Pen support. Also, the Galaxy Note 5 is believed to feature a thin profile measuring only 7.9 mm in thickness.

It remains unknown why Samsung will not launch a Galaxy Note Edge successor this year. Also, it remains to be known if the Galaxy Note Edge Plus has something to do with this device.
