There has been a rumor of the Galaxy Note featuring a flexible display before, but it seems that rumor is now back again to whet the appetites of people. KoreaTimes is reporting that the previous rumor will come true and the Galaxy Note 2 will indeed sport a slim and flexible AMOLED display, 5.5-inches in size.

The AMOLED display will employ an Unbreakable Plane (UBP) and plastic substrate which will help reduce Samsung reduce its thickness by around 0.4 mm, which will also allow Samsung to put in a large capacity battery without increasing the phone’s (or phablet as they so call it) thickness any further than the Galaxy Note. Earlier rumors also suggest that the screen will have a high resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels, while the hardware underneath with be a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor (most probably the same one used in the Galaxy S3) as well as 1.5 GB of RAM, all of which will run Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 out of the box.

Of course, the phone itself will not be flexible as some science fiction fans might wish it to be, but who knows whether that may be a reality soon in the coming years. Excited about how the Galaxy Note 2 will turn out to be and whether it will really have a flexible display? Do let us know in the comments, and wait patiently for August 29, when the Galaxy Note 2 will be officially announced.
