Many devices from Samsung are receiving the latest Android security patch. The update, which comes as OTA update is available for devices such as Galaxy J5 Prime, J1 Mini, J1 Mini Prime and J7 2016 Duos.
The updates have the following build numbers:
- Galaxy J5 Prime: G570FXXU1AQF2
- Galaxy J1 Mini: J105HXWU0AQF1
- Galaxy J1 Mini Prime: J106FJVU0AQF2
- Galaxy J7 2016 Duos: J7109KEU1BQF1
As is the case with any security patch, the update takes care of various security vulnerabilities and brings along fixes to existing bugs. The update also includes various other under-the-hood performance improvements as well as other minor system enhancements too.

It is advisable to connect to a good Wi-Fi network before downloading the update. You should keep your handset charged as high as 50 percent.
If you haven’t received the update yet, you can check for it manually via the device settings. Go to Settings – About – Software updates.
