We recently told you to expect Galaxy C5 Pro and C7 Pro to release in December 2016, but it looks like Samsung has more than two devices planned for year-end. Among that, one could be the Galaxy A5 2017 edition, and if A5 is getting a revision, why not Galaxy A7 2017 too. Okay, you may ask, why this is not A7 2017, then well, it doesn’t look that big, phablet big you know.
You’d be forgiven to think that this device is either of C5 Pro or C7 pro sets we’re talking about earlier. We had our momentarily doubt too. But if you look closely, you’d notice it’s not metal at the back but only glass (A-series, thus!), and that it doesn’t have visible antenna lines at the back, something exclusive to Samsung C-series right now: the C5, C7 and C9 Pro, all have it along with metal body.
The image showing the front of the devices reveals two important features: one, that display is curved on its sides, and second it features Always On Display (AOD), that we currently see on Galaxy S7 too.
Oh, that AOD in turn could be an hint for the release date of the device itself, as if we are to identify a date based on time shown on the display — 12: 13 — it has to be December 13. What do you think?
The the Galaxy A5 2017 features curved panel was indeed necessary, as Samsung needs it own curved screen sets in the mid-range now, given the launch of numerous Chinese phones in October and November.
It looks like Galaxy A5 2017 is housing a USB Type-C port at the bottom, along with single speaker with 3.5mm jack. It doesn’t need mention that you can expect the C5 Pro/C7 pro in three colors: Blue, Pink and Golden. Looking at the back, you’d be forgiven to think for a second that it’s the Galaxy S5, and it’s odd-blue and bad-aid golden color.
BTW, don’t expect the A5 21017 to release with Android 7.0 Nougat just yet, as Samsung is pretty much busy working on stable version of its 7.0 build, while it released a second Nougat beta update for European users, while expanded the Galaxy beta program to China, today.
