FlymeOS 6.7.8.2 update brings Android Nougat to 9 Meizu devices

Meizu has officially released Flyme 6.7.8.22 Developer ROM which comes with a bunch of new features including a kernel upgrade of 9 Meizu models to Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat. The lucky devices getting Nougat are Meizu Pro 6 Plus, Pro 6, Pro 6s, Pro 5, MX6, Meizu E, M3 Max, M5 Note and M3 Note.

However, despite other Meizu models (such as the MX5, MX4, MX4 Pro, Meizu X, Meizu U20, U10) also getting upgraded to the same Flyme 6.7.8.22 version, their software didn’t get bumped up to Android Nougat but remained on Marshmallow. It is worth noting that Meizu Flyme 6 was initially released based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Meizu devices, receiving the Flyme 6.7.8.22 beta version and getting upgraded to Android 7.0/7.1 Nougat,  are in for some system improvements which include increase in system updating speed and app install speed.

The update also brings changes to the camera and connectivity. The basic settings of the Flyme OS also undergoes changes thus introducing several new features, one of which is payment authorization for several services via the fingerprint scanner.

This Flyme version being a developer ROM may carry some bugs. Also, it is important to bear in mind that all the mentioned Meizu devices may not fully support all the features. These issues should get solved once Meizu starts pushing a stable build of the Flyme 6.7.8.22 beta version.
