First live images of the HTC U Ocean flagship appear online

New live images of the much rumored HTC U Ocean smartphone have appeared online. According to reports, this will be the only high-end smartphone coming from HTC this year. No HTC 11 this year, stated the company.

That doesn’t mean we can’t expect some other great high-end smartphones from HTC. And that is where the rumored HTC U, aka Ocean, comes in. The first details of the smartphone was leaked in January this year.

The latest leaked images, as seen at the top of the article, shows the front and back of the HTC U. At the front, you’ll notice thin bezels, no extra display as found in the HTC U Ultra, and a fingerprint sensor/Home button at the bottom.

At the back, you see the single camera and dual-LED flash. Previously, another set of images of the phone had leaked, but that showed no Home button and a different camera/flash arrangement.

Most recently, a whole lot of specs and details regarding the HTC U had leaked online. The phone is supposed to have a very unique pressure sensing side bezel. Pressing on the bezel would let you perform certain actions, such as take a picture, launch apps, copy/paste text etc. We aren’t sure when HTC would announce this device, but it shouldn’t be long.

  1. exact same design philosophy as the U-series earlier with full Glass design, looks beautiful though but on the contrary make the phone vulnerable to drops and scratches and also fingerprint magnet,a HTC 10’s metal Tank like design would hv been better!!
on the other hand it packs some great Ocean of specs and IP67 certification means water and dust resistance, possible to come with wireless charging as well!!

  2. The phone looks absolutely gorgeous. Thin side bezels, however, that chin looks to be such a bummer. In the onset of bezel less displays, looking at a chin like that is unfortunate. Hopefully it houses the backlit keys. Otherwise it is a huge waste of screen real estate.

  5. Very interested to see how the “squeeze” feature turns out to be .they’re trying something new and I kinda like it and The phone itself seems sleek .All these years HTC has brought good phones in terms of looks and decent performance but they weren’t really strong .One drop and pop goes your investment unless you went into the 30k section where they provided a decent build quality although it was still poor it held up for a while.Hope this one has a good build quality 😀
