Firefox for Android adds support for phones with ARMv6 processors

Firefox for Android may not be the most popular browser out there, but it certainly has its fans, specially thanks to the ability to extend its functionality via add-ons. Now with the latest update, those having devices running on an ARMv6 processor will also be able to enjoy using the browser as well.

While ARMv6 processors were supported in previous versions, the new update adds support for a lot more devices, including the HTC Status, HTC ChaCha, Samsung Galaxy Ace, Motorola Fire XT and LG Optimus Q, though only devices with an 800 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM need apply.

Other changes brought by the update including Android 4.2 instability fixes, Ice Cream Sandwich/Jellybean support for hardware and software decoding of H.264/AAC/MP3 audio and video, as well as Jelly Bean support for the new “Explore by Touch” feature. There is also a fix for some text deletion issues.
