Launched last month, the Essential Phone has been in news since then. In the recent development, the Essential has collaborated with the Sprint in the USA. Meaning, Sprint will be the exclusive carrier partner for the Essential phone.
This does not mean that we were wrong the last time when we reported that Essential Phone will support Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and all other carriers in the USA. Okay, don’t get confused. This basically means while Essential Phone would sell ONLINE too (via the Essential website as of now and maybe via other online retailers as well in future) in unlocked form, making it compatible to work on all carriers in USA, only Sprint would keep it in stores.

Also, it would be available for outright purchase online with EMI options, but only Sprint customers would get subsidized pricing, under which they would pay around $200 upfront, while rest of the cost will be part of their monthly plan.
Interestingly, this is how Google Pixel sells too – it’s a Verizon exclusive in USA, but sells online too, and works with all carriers. Exact match, however, would be the HTC U11, which sells online from HTC.com and other online retailers in unlocked form for full price (EMIs available), but only Sprint sells it between carriers as an exclusive.
The pricing for Sprint Essential Phone is currently unknown, however, the unlocked Essential phone is available for $699 on the official Essential website.
